Don't Take Your Feet Off of The Highway

Only 300 miles from home, my feet wave in endless admiration for the traffic in front of them on
Interstate Highway 66.
This is a layover that enables rest and I reviewed some guitar tracks as I mixed them into 'Roadside Blues'.

Recent Steps on the Road

At some close time after work, I like to get outside and walk a few miles.
A new camera that numbers four, serves to capture some of what I see.
New songs, different approaches, a few streaks of uncertainty; something will come along.

Parking By The Pool

Into September the reminder of cooler days sound off with the sporadic crunch of stale leaves along the roadway.
A once soothing swimming pool is now observed only by the searing hot pavement along the side of the sun tantrum-ed cover to conceal any reminder of water.
It is a Saturday with subtle reminders of a change to come that will bring cold of many months duration.

On My Way

The climate in Virginia has proven to be more comfortable than I would have expected.
The nights are cooler as my job becomes more tolerable with cool air.
The photographs are of Broome and Tioga Counties, in upstate New York.
It's always better to get outside and walk a few miles.

'Six Eyes is Three Less Eyes than Nine'

2014

I am only now starting to record anything.
It has been a slow period of construction with more to be done.
Looking back at 2012 into 2013, it was nice to have an album each month.
At this time, I expect to round something off this Fall.
I couldn't even guess what I will actually record.

A new camera on order should put a end to the 'artistic prints'.

I can always use more throughput on the guitar.

That Was It

It is a busy week. As I sit in a chair here in Manassas,VA.,
I will soon be driving and delivering product.
On Monday, I released a EP; this the first release in two months.
A new computer system is in development with eight TB (terabyte) of disc space and Windows 8.1 will be used in support of  a Sony Movie editing program.
I am going to try to produce more audio and improve on the quality of the supportive video.

I would like to set up equipment in the center of this blacktop island and
play hard.

American Me (EP) (2014-08)

The EP was mostly recorded in 2014 but,
some of the 2012 blog video entries were used as well.
Much of the finalizing was done on other computers.

The future is a little rough.
Here and there, its better than before.

Call It Now

Recording projects are piling up on the back burner as I must upgrade the primary studio/office computer.
I had built it in 2009 but, recently I couldn't launch the operating system.
I was able to scan the hard-drive on another computer and repair the directory to reveal the data on the hard-drive.
Although I can record onto other computers, I have had difficulties with configurations that actually enable two channel stereo.
I will use a sound card on the next system also.

Keep It Simple

Down here in Manassas sitting in a chair next to a window of a motel room,
I realize that it is rather easy to be overextended in my free-time projects.
Truck driving has been for several months, my primary objective as I have strived to become more effective at my job;
it is very demanding of me.

It's one year after the advent of The Voorholes,
I needed a change of direction in my music that was fulfilled rather nicely here.
So far, three albums and two EP's have been realized.

'Any Reason Not To Return Home'
The Voorholes
2013
 From the album:
Meet The Voorholes! (2013-06)

Beside and around it all, I am better off walking some distance
when the time presents itself in such a capacity to do so.
Sedimentary activity is no road of motivation to better recordings.

 'The Summer Song'
The Voorholes
2013
From the album:
The Constant Sorrow of Gravity’s Downward Situation (2013-07)

The EP that I have been working on titled 'Morning Blue' was temporally released and I then pulled it within 24 hours because I didn't like it.
I know it is a fussy situation but,
I thought I could do better to salvage the jam tracks by remixing and recording additional tracks.
Sometime later,
A full album titled 'American Me' will be released.

Alston Guitars - TC Semi-Hollow Mahogany Bolt On Electric Guitar Kit
This is my first guitar project from a kit.
Plenty of sanding.
Add stain and apply several coats of polyurethane; be patient in between coats.
Use a 75 watt soldering gun for the electrical connections.
A good sounding guitar.

It is so familiar to tell myself that with additional equipment,
I will produce better material; Time will tell.

I Speak To You From The Swimming Pool

Hot Humid Hours working in Virginia.
At about 14:00 hrs, I checked into the hotel and submersed myself into the swimming pool.
I brought the camera with me as I was in here for well over one hour.

Transporters Are Not Toys
The Transporter used for this subject did not have the correct buffering sequence.
A energy differential from another energy pattern
that was directed to a near general area,
resulted in several types of distortion.
This distortion was reversed by plasma washing the re-energized energy pattern.
This is the same process as Bio-Tagging and cloning.

A Made Up Song That Makes Me Wonder.......

What a hard working day.
Hour after hour of offloading product with a handcart left me uncertain and tired as the schedule was over two hours behind.
I did my best to keep the pace moving but, I see that I am more interested in driving as compared to manual labor.
The trade-off is that most truck driving jobs do not result in much home time; not in the Binghamton, NY area.

I arrived at the motel in Manassas at about 13:30, I spent one hour in the outdoor pool as the sunlight saturated my body with warmth that was so soothing in and out of the bright cool water.
I decided to walk about one mile to a Thai Restaurant and order take out food for dinner.
So, I now walk around Manassas without a shirt too; I felt pretty good after being in the pool, there was a continuous breeze that was much appreciated in the 80+ degree F temperature.
At the restaurant, I didn't know what to order.
I finally ordered fried rice and a ginger chicken dish with five shrimp rolls.
The order came to $27.oo, I paid it as I sat there waiting for my food.
I decided that I was going to eat a meal and that I would enjoy it regardless; there is a McDonalds across the street anyhow, I can always order a few McDoubles, I eat them without the bread.

Within 15 minutes, I was walking back to the motel, I took my shirt off after leaving the restaurant.
As I walked along the busy road (VA State Route 234 Business), I was offered a ride, I politely declined.
I did have to switch arms to carry the food, it weighed over 5 pounds.
Overall, the character of the food was lighter than Chinese food but with more character in the flavor.
I ate a large meal and went to bed and ate a generous serving of leftovers later.

 Late Evening in Manassas

The Afternoon, The Day Before in Endicott.

We were two stupid kids that knew only one day after another.
Two stupid kids that never got it right.

Don't you know, I think it shows.
Don't you know, I think it shows.
Don't you know, I think it shows.

Once while having an intense discussion about Albert Hofmann while standing in Owego Creek, she turned to me and confided that she was turning into a mermaid.

Don't you know, I think it shows.
Don't you know, I think it shows.
Don't you know, I think it shows.

I knew where to go; I took her to the emergency entrance of the Tunison Fish Lab along State Route 13.

Don't you know, I think it shows.
Don't you know, I think it shows.
Don't you know, I think it shows.

They shrugged their shoulders and said maybe she was in contact with an 'electric' eel?

Don't you know, I think it shows.
Don't you know, I think it shows.
Don't you know, I think it shows.
Don't you know, I think it shows.
Don't you know, I think it shows.

'Fish Lab'
MPK
2013
 From the album:
Open Sores for People That Love One Another Too Much (2013-02)

I wrote 'Fish Lab' in early 2013.
Along NY State Route 13 in Cortland County, NY,
there once was a official green and white directional sign for the Tunison Fish Lab.
It amused me to no limit to think of someone driving up and down state route 13 looking for the fish lab.
I thought about someone frantic with a large cooler in the back of the vehicle
containing a unidentified aquatic creature.

The fish lab sign is no longer there,
the laboratory has been renamed;
I cant locate the name however,
it is at 3075 Gracie Rd, Cortland, NY 13045.

I most sincerely hope that my song had nothing to do with the renaming of the Tunison Fish Lab.
Of course.....
the song is not true, they don't have an emergency entrance.

As The Gentle Hours Pass By

The hours run past the ambitions of the day;
there is no time left to drive in a hot and yet, very comfortable Manassas afternoon.
A shower washes away hours of grime as I shall take time to go about and eat dinner nearby.
Several large cups of coffee to take with me on the fly.
As I retire at the end of a long day, I cannot deny, it's all worth it to try.
